The Power of Perseverance
A new year is upon us and it's up to us to make the most out of it. While trying to decide how I wanted to approach my blog, I decided to tap into stories from my own personal experience that you as readers could draw from in a positive way. One thing I know alot about is how to persevere.

In the film Rocky Balboa there is a beloved quote where Rocky says:
"It ain't about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"
I'm here to tell you that's true. Throughout my life I've fallen on hard times more than one person should be expected to take. I don't talk about it much because we all have our own sad stories. However, what I've learned from falling down is that you don't stay down. No matter how many times life kicks you in the teeth you get up and fight back.
I know that there will be those moments where you want to throw in the towel, I've had themself just recently. When you're putting in hours of work to build a dream and you aren't seeing the results you're after it can get frustrating to the point of defeat...but don't let it beat you.
In the weight room we embrace failure. That's when the muscle fatigues due to exhaustion and it can no longer lift the weight. But the secret is that's when the growth takes place! When you push yourself past what you think your limits are it helps you gain the skills needed to take that next step, and then the next. And soon, you're stepping past the point where life can keep knocking you on your ass. But if it does you really only need to remember why you started in the first place and you'll get back up again.

So my challenge to you is this...whatever you want to accomplish for the new year, what's your why?
Connect a strong enough reason to your goal and you'll figure out how to get it done. It may take longer than you expected but as long as you persevere you'll find your way there.
The higher the mountain, the greater the reward!
