Book Lovers Con & Birthday Shenanigans

Book Lovers Con is an event that brings together authors and readers in an experience that truly embodies a love of books. This was the first year that the event came to Las Vegas and it happened to land on my birthday weekend. Being an author and lover of books myself I wasn't about to pass up the chance to attend.

Let me tell you, I'm so glad I went because it was a blast!

There were parties, get togethers, and of course author signings. All the while I felt a great sense of community but also that the authors ourselves finally were being appreciated for our work. That is so rare these days!

On my actual birthday, I opted to wear a silly hat to make it known and just have some fun. It didn't disappoint! Nor did the sell out of my dragon fantasy series A Time of Dragons. I loved meeting all the readers and reuniting with long-time friends I hadn't seen in quite some time.

All in all, the event was a blast. It set up at The Paris which made for easy in and out as a Vegas local (if you know the tricks!). The only regrettable thing was the choice in dining but that's more of a hotel issue than the convention itself.

Book Lovers Con has events across the country and internationally. I know I'll be going again, especially when they return to Las Vegas in 2026!
